Founded by Alba Martinez—a passionate Puerto Rican and Philadelphian, community leader, musician, composer, and cultural advocate—Ritmo Lab is inspired by her personal life experiences and the rich stories of Latinos in Philadelphia and beyond. Philadelphia is home to the third-largest Puerto Rican population globally, a fact that deeply influences our work and underscores the cultural richness of the city. Alba’s vision is to share these narratives, believing in their universal power to connect and inspire.

Our mission is simple: to inspire pride, foster connection, and elevate the voices of Latinos through creative expression. We do this through community-engaged art, collaborating with diverse artists and community members—Latino and non-Latino alike—to create projects that deepen understanding and enrich the cultural tapestry of Latino Philadelphia.

What we do?
Alba Martínez, Founder
Alba Martínez is an independent producer of music and multimedia projects that celebrate the vibrant culture of Latinidad. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Alba immersed herself in music and art from a young age, teaching herself guitar and percussion. At 19, she left the island to study law in Washington, DC, where she discovered a new cultural home within the Central and South American Latin music and artistic communities.
